Sensei Christal breaking at his Shodan Promotion

Sensei Christal began his martial arts training in 1998.  He studied at the New Castle Bushi-Kai school under Master Troxell (8th Dan).  After training for a short period of time he began competing in tournaments where he and his classmates would often battle for 1st and 2nd place respectively.

In November of 2006 Sensei Christal was granted instructorship by Master Troxell.  Master Troxell supported Sensei Christal's efforts to open a martial arts school in Portland, IN even though Sensei Christal was not yet a Black Belt.  This was a very special situation in which Sensei Christal's hard work and dedication to the Bushi-Kai System and Master Troxell were rewarded.  It showed that Master Troxell had a great deal of respect and trust in Sensei Christal.  The result was the opening of the Patriot Bushi-Kai Karate School in Portland, IN.

While operating Patriot Bushi-Kai Sensei Christal also continued to both instruct at the New Castle dojo as well as train for his future promotions.  Sensei Christal has grown to love teaching the arts and his desire to achieve the rank of Black Belt was solely for the purpose of being able to legitimately pass on the knowledge of the art.
Sensei Christal promoted to the rank of Shodan (1st Degree Black Belt) on April 12, 2008.

Sensei Christal took me under his wing in July of 2007.  His knowledge, support, and understanding helped to make me a better person as well as a more true Martial Artist.  I consider Sensei Christal a dear friend and I appreciate the effect he has had on my life more than he realizes.
